Fucking Kerry

nice

Where does John Kerry get off saying the everyone in the US military is a bunch of dumbasses?
That simply isn't true.

The United States military is the most technologically advanced in the world. I seriously doubt a bunch of brain dead yokels would be able to operate and maintain the sophisticated equipment they use everyday.

Sure the government actively goes after the poorer members of society and dangle some pretty enticing financial insentives to get them to join the military, but that doesn't neccessarily mean they're stupid.
Most people join to earn money for college or learn a skill to better themselves since the public schools they attended probably didn't do shit for them.

I myself know a few people in the armed forces and I wouldn't call most of them stupid. They are just as motivated and driven and some college shmuck and I have all the respect in the world for them.
Yeah, it's easy to turn your nose up at these people and automatically label them as "dumb" just because they grew up in a poor neighborhood and aren't college educated, but they can learn a hell of a lot more in the military than some pampered college puke.

Then of course there are the ones I know who aren't that bright... in fact you might say they are stupid, ignorant, and devoid of any kind of common sense. These are usually the ones you hear about accidenly shooting themselves or getting run over by their own tanks. able to shoot a gun. At least they learned how to shoot a gun.

Fortunately the dumb ones are in the minority because if they weren't we would have an army full of high tech toys rusting in the desert because nobody would know how to work them.

Maybe Kerry should have thought about that before making his own dumb ass comment. Now the pussy is trying to back track and say it was just a "botched joke" when the day before he refused to apologize for anything he said. I mean come on! He can at LEAST have the balls to stand by his opinion no matter how ridiculous it may be, but alas, he's a politician... that's not going to happen anytime soon.

Mmmm... I am soooo loving the fried squid!

  1. If you listened to the entire comment, not just what the media feeds you, then you would have known that he was attempting to slam Bush, not the military.

  2. Lol! Riiiiiiight! IF he was attempting to "slam" Bush then needs to work on his delivery. The Left has a history of holding the military in low regard and Kerry reflects this attitude, hippie.
    Great post!

  3. I just find it funny more people are more upset about Kerry getting hammered by the Rep and pundits, for showing his true colors. No matter if he messed up the joke or not, the message still holds true. The only people in the military are those not smart enough to go to college. This is the belief of most elitest Democrats, why would anyone want to fight for their country and risk their lives to protect our freedoms? They can't figure it out b/c it wasn't taught to them by a college professor or read in a book.

And for those of you who think that Democrats and Libs are the most generous and most caring people, towards the poor, to donating their time, to donating blood, etc.etc. You should read this book, Who Really Cares by Arthur Brooks. Basically, shows that rep and religious people out do the compasionate liberals in every area of philanthropy.

  4. Interesting post, you make some points, but somehow I don't think they would send a computer science specialist to the frontlines as opposed to Joe bob the truck driver from Bubbaville.
True both would be "stuck" in Iraq, but I'd rather be in the CS guy's shoes.
    Sorry, Joe bob.

  5. The truth is that Republicans and Democrats are all really the same. Party politics is the real evil in this country. People need to be voting on what's most important on an issue by issue basis, and not just along party lines. As far as Kerry's comments go, they were inappropriate, and his long hesitation in apologizing for them is even more so. Kerry should be ashamed of himself for making such a blanket statement about the men and women who are brave enough to put their lives on the line to serve this wonderful country in military service, for whatever reason they may have for doing so. Any way you slice it, no matter which side of the political spectrum on which you find yourself, a respect for those in our military is a must whether you support the government's actions in war or not.
